Well moral relativism is dead and well most people and well republicans and democrats agree marijuana is safe and the drug war is a failure. I do agree with you on that but again sessions is fucking with a states income. Im just waiting for it to turn fully legal in my state otherwise count wise its legal where i live just not state wide for recreational use.

Of course you have to remember that the "drug war" was never about safety.... or drugs.  It was about Nixon and his war machine.

Quote:One of Richard Nixon's top advisers and a key figure in the Watergate scandal said the war on drugs was created as a political tool to fight blacks and hippies, according to a 22-year-old interview recently published in Harper's Magazine.

"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people," former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman told Harper's writer Dan Baum for the April cover story published Tuesday.

Republicans are against Central government power that are not controlled by those who are very wealthy now, and applied without restraint towards robbing from the poor both now and for as long as possible in the future.

Central government power that are, the republicana as much for as Hitler was for the gestapol.   This is why republicans are eager to gut any branch of civil service whose mandates conflict with the above.

Yes and no.  It is much older than that.

I have, in colorado.

It was weird the first time, but the employees helped me relax pretty fast.

Watched the vid with Sen Gardners grandstanding. PoS could help by introducing a bill to remove weed from controlled substances.

Or by threatening to hold up all nominees, way more effective

I luve in Washington, it's been no different from buying a six pack or a bottle of wine for years.

P.S. Jeff Sessions can suck my ass.

Yea, but do you remember how you felt the first time buying weed legally?  The release from fear.  Walking out of the shop with your purchase; not having to worry about being detained and ticketed (or worse depending on location).

Sessions is a dinosaur, believing the lies spread his entire life about cause-effect and pot.  But he is just a cog in the machine and not the gear driving it.  I dont like the man and his opinions on most things, but his internal compass is what drives him in his crusades.  Take the law away and he goes away.

Only if he actually does it.  I do not believe he will.

However, right after I posted the "remove weed" post I thought about why he wouldnt.  Money.  The more states that legalize weed for personal use, the less value it has for Colorado (and other) coffers.  Vegas vs Indian Casinos type of thing.

Might make a run against him a potential issue if Sessions cronies go after his state.

Has anything even changed? The Colorado US attorney says they were already operating within Sessions new guidelines under the Cole amendment, and expects no difference, from what I've read.

I wonder if the point is to be able to target criminal organizations that look to also get a hand in 'legal' operations as well. If you're selling heroin on the side, but open a pot shop, being able to get them on the pot shop seems like something you'd want if you couldn't nail them for the heroin, for example. Makes sure the wrong people aren't profiting from the legalization.

I don't think we'll see a damn thing change. This was political grand standing.

Bringing someone in on the count of owning a pink shirt in order to shadow-litigate a robbery?  No, that doesn't seem like a good idea at all.

The drug war is unconstitutional as hell and racist as hell with Nixons top people coming out it should have ended the drug war.
Even then states can say fuck it and not abide by federal law and protect peaceful drug users and regulate and tax said substances. I mean the federal government would
just waste everyones time trying to crack down anyways.

I'd have far fewer problems with the war on illegal drugs if there were more focus on keeping the really nasty shit out and rehabilitating those caught up in the drug trade and less emphasis put on locking them all up.

It would also be nice if the feds would spend at least as much keeping radiologicals out as they waste on their ineffective war on drugs.
