No doubt, and I wrote it with a tongue-in-cheek tone.

For me, Mum won't be around forever. She asks me to go, I spend the service relaxing and irritating my brother by braiding the fringes on his tallis. After a couple hours, she's pacified and happy, we go get something to eat, everyone wins. It's not like it was in the past where it was every Friday night until I was bat mitzvah'd, and every Sunday for school, wasting valuable study time. Now, this is like going to see a movie I don't really care about.

The point I was trying to make is that it might not necessarily be HARD to tell your parents you don't give a shit, but it might be EASIER to indulge them when you know they are not going to change.

What I do to miss church (It usually doesn't work, but once in a while...) is to stay in bed as long as possible, and hope your parents oversleep. Another thing that I've considered doing is setting all the clocks in the house back an hour.

Wait...you don't go to church except on Christmas? Do you have any idea how lucky you are? I have to go every Sunday, and every Friday at school, and some other days when they make us go. Just sit through the bullshit and get on with your life.

I haven't seen the insides of a church for over 10 years now. Maybe more than that. I couldn't go through what you do. It would drive me nuts!

Are they all the homeless people all over Africa that are born into families who cant afford to keep them fed and clothed due to them only being born because of the church's stance on contraception?!

Anyway, back on topic...tell them your gay. Then instead of church you can have them disown and hate you...yaaaaay!
