Gay Marriage Leads to Human-Robot Marriage
... to no one's surprise, the bible is often referenced in this video.
Disturbingly, America seems to have once again referenced as some sort of Christian Nation ™ and aspects of our flag and monuments being from the bible. This time from Maryland instead of the usual suspects of Florida, Arizona, and Texas. The group is conservative, of course. Apparently gay marriage means that one day we're going to consider allowing people to marry their androids. Star Trek is also referenced. It's heil-arious. Haven't watched the video but if androids are conscious and able to make choices for themselves, why not?
I have little doubt that if and when we do create AI that is self-aware, we're going to struggle with exactly what our obligations are toward them. Are they programmed by their manufacturer with inalienable rights? |

I really don't see anything wrong with marrying androids. Robot is a slave, so I don't see much of a point in marrying one of those... but if an android is a person, why deny them the capacity? A marriage is, after all, an agreement between two persons.
