Islay or Speyside? Think Islay doesnt even count as *highlanders*.

Of course it does. The Hebrides have always been considered part of the Highlands.

RE: Whiskey
@WinterHold I'm lost. Are you going on about cultural appropriation brutality or just American brutality entitlement?

I think I'm offended by one of these.

I don’t think he’s entirely sure himself. This is often how a persecution complex manifests.

What little grasp Atlas had on reality is gone.

He's gone full conspiracy whack-a-loon.  Maybe it's his physical illness leading to mental decline.  He's grasping at straws now looking for ways to blame America for his woes.

Shame really.  He didn't seem like a bad guy when I first got here.  Religiously deluded but not a bad guy over all.  Now he's a rambling, babbling nutcase.

RE: Whiskey
That's not new or novel.

The irony in this example, is that whiskey has a long and distinctly anti-government history in the US. If bourbon has become a symbol of oppression in Nutlandia, then it's nature as americana has been wholly flipped upside down.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

If I lived where he does I might be screaming help help I'm being repressed. I'm willing to cut him some slack.

Can’t say I disagree. When a user of tobacco - a uniquely American product - derides the use of American whiskey, there’s a pretty clear break with reality.

Meh, it's liquor, already demonized and because of this convenient to lump in with the great satan.

The break with reality, as he describes his fellow islamists fucking over their own people, is that this is somehow an american problem. That willingness to eat their own is why the ummah collapsed, and the lever that imperial powers used to subjugate the region.

I try to give him some slack because he is sick.  But all his woes aren't coming from America/Americans/those who emulate Americans.
