Well, I don't agree with Dawkins and I have that right. I am allowed to be offended by what he says. I will never try to stop him from saying those things that is his right as a person.

I am not turning a blind eye to anything. I'm not sure what you want me to say. I just answered the question as honestly as I could. If you don't like my answer then that is fine by me, you don't have to. But we can still be friends.

It's not that you don't have a right to be offended, it's just that being offended is not an argument.

Like, when you see stuff like this in the Bible:

Leviticus 20:13 “If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death; their blood is upon them.”

You don't think it is homophobic, and just blame Dawkins for saying it is? Or do you think that God is right and that gays should be put to death?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I am not trying to argue anything with anybody. This is not a debate. I am merely telling you how I feel and what I believe. If you want to argue and debate you are talking to the wrong guy my friend.

The verse you are quoting does not pertain to me. That is one of the Laws given to Moses in the Torah. I am not a Jew nor do I live in ancient Palestine. I live here in America in 2021.

Well, that is the God that Dawkins is talking about, and yes, you are turning the blind eye toward it.

When it comes to being offended, you believe that we athletes will all be tortured forever, and yet you are the one who is offended. Well, I am offended by your barbarism and your violent religion.

Again, I am not and you telling me what I believe is odd, but ok I'll let you tell it.

And as for you being offended, why does it matter to you if you go to Hell. You're an atheist you don't believe in Hell.

I'm sorry if I offended you. I'm not sure how I have been violent or barbaric towards I have been nothing but polite and kind towards you. If you don't like Christianity then just don't believe in it as you have been doing. That simple.

That's why people hate, not why they hate atheists to the degree they do.  I don't think anybody lacks understanding about sexual orientation, but gays end up near the bottom anyway.

Your answer doesn't explain why atheists are consistently hated more.

I don't believe they're hated more. Perhaps there's an identifiable victim bias or availability bias you'd like to discuss. I personally, don't hate atheists any more than anyone else, myself included. I get that you might perceive more attacks from your perspective on atheists, you being one. But you can see where I'm having problems with the generalization when I don't hold the views that you're attempting to frame around "All Christians".
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

Quote:Atheists are one of the most disliked groups in America. Only 45 percent of Americans say they would vote for a qualified atheist presidential candidate, and atheists are rated as the least desirable group for a potential son-in-law or daughter-in-law to belong to.

(Scientific American)

Quote:Ten years ago University of Minnesota sociologists conducted research showing that, among a long list of racial and religious minority groups, atheists were the most disliked group of people in the United States. Last month they followed up with new research that shows that Americans still have negative opinions of atheists and the non-religious

(University Of Minnesota)

Quote:In the U.S., no major religious group is viewed more warmly by the overall public than Jews. When asked to rate a variety of groups on a “feeling thermometer” ranging from 0 (coldest and most negative) to 100 (warmest and most positive), Americans give Jews an average rating of 63 degrees, and four-in-ten people rate Jews in the warmest portion of the scale (at 67 degrees or higher).

Several other religious groups also receive ratings that are, on balance, more warm than cold. Catholics and mainline Protestants each receive an average rating of 60 degrees, followed closely by Buddhists (57 degrees), evangelical Christians (56 degrees) and Hindus (55 degrees). All of these groups receive more ratings at the warmest end of the scale (67 or higher) than at the coldest end of the scale (33 or lower).

At the colder end of the spectrum, atheists and Muslims each receive an average thermometer rating of 49 degrees from the public. As many people rate atheists at the coldest end of the scale (33 degrees or below) as rate them at the warmest end of the scale (67 or higher). Mormons earn an average rating of 51 degrees.

What do you mean by reject?

I am not sure who Xhe is.

You are an Independent Fundamental Baptist, ergo not a Pastafarian, and ergo rejecting the truth that can only be revealed to you by faith in FSM or if you were lucky enough to catch Xis tv special in the 90's 'Religions greatest secrets finally revealed'.

Xhe is the Flying Spaghetti Monster. I thought that was fairly obvious.

Interesting, so where can I find this tv show. I would love to watch it.

Also, was wondering, the FSM name is Xhe, are there other FSM or is Xhe the only one. Where can I find more info on Xhe and his doctrine?
