[Serious] That Trans Thread

RE: That Trans Thread
Ok, enough is enough. We have ‘That Gay Thread’ and now ‘That Trans Thread’. Where the hell is the thread for cis-gendered white males?? We have been in a millennia-long struggle of not being oppressed for our gender, our sexuality, our sex, or our melanin content. No one denies us jobs or educational opportunities or housing. We have long been forced to not take to the streets to ensure our basic human rights, and - most of all - none of you lot have the balls to engage in cis-bashing.

You don’t understand our struggle!

RE: That Trans Thread
You know when Christians go "God don't make mistakes," in response to trans people I always want to reply, "What make you think it was a mistake? It wouldn't be the most fucked up thing God did to put somebody in the wrong body."

I never had an issue with someone identifying as a certain gender that's contrast to their biological gender. That their right. If I'm not sure what pronouns a certain person like to be refer by I'll ask. Sadly many don't do this and insist you're only your biological gender and nothing else. I feel bad for the trans community having to deal with harassment and the fact so many commit suicide all because assholes couldn't be bothered to refer to them by the gender they identify as.

I’m so sorry, Jehanne. I can’t imagine what it must be like to be targeted by so much hate simply for existing. Fuck. Those. Assholes.

Probably Christians, too.

And this thread isn’t the place for you to complain about your white, cishet dude problems. Tone deaf much?

Sadly I know a transgender person right here at Countryside and NONE of the staff respects her. Same with the residents. They either call her a him (which is her biological gender) or an it. Fucking disgusting.

Comparatively speaking, it absolutely is.

IIRC, you live in the same town where my brother lives and that his wife is from. You aren't exactly in the most open-minded area...having grown up about an hour from there (now with the new roads) I know people in general aren't very accepting of anything 'different'. In the 70s is was us long haired freaky people who were targets. Be careful.

I appreciate your comments, but, I've reached the point in life where I pretty much don't care. For instance, I was working at the site of a new restaurant this morning and some women employees were going out of their way to call me, "Sir", while another employee, a male, may have thought that I was a biological female, because, he offered to carry garbage out for me, as it was snowing. The manager also referred to me as "Dawn", even though I had never met him before.

When people try to refer to me using male pronouns, I have this embarrassed grin on my face, completely autonomic. I think that it causes them more awkwardness than it does me.

At least people at this new restaurant will have something to talk about today, as my work was completed around noon.
