Yet Another GOP Dumpster Fire Of A Human Being
RE: Yet Another GOP Dumpster Fire Of A Human Being
Shit. If that's true, we're going to need another Jesus just to atone for their sins.

96% of republicans voted no to keep birth control legal in America.

Birth control prevents unwanted pregnancies

Preventing unwanted pregnancies prevents abortions

Do republicans understand this?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Clearly not, but we all knew that.  This one just really tweaked my brain in an unhealthy direction, I think.  I mean, why, seriously, why, vote no on it?  If it's not clear on this one that the republican vote is nothing more than the naysaying of the opposition....then what?  I'm really at a loss.  And I am/would be at a loss on the other side as well if it were the dems doing the same thing.

I suspect that many of them either don't understand or don't give a shit. And I strongly suspect many of the latter only have this in mind:

As a side note, this monstrosity represents part of my state in Congress. Granted, her district mostly consists of the area we like to call Bum Fuck Egypt, but still, she's representing my home state (the Land of Lincoln) and spouting white supremacist propaganda. This, combined with the dystopian nature of the ruling made this my initial reaction to her remarks:

Because they don't care about abortion rates. They care about controlling women and relegating them to second-class status as the Good Book™ describes.

Lol, the publisher just shared the cover for Josh Hawley's (aka coward) new book, due out next year.

"The foolhardy assault on masculinity ... is an assault on freedom itself," reads the promotional copy.

“No matter what men think, abortion is a fact of life. Women have always had them; they always have and they always will. Are they going to have good ones or bad ones? Will the good ones be reserved for the rich, while the poor women go to quacks?”
