I swear Technology hates me.

I swear Technology hates me.
So little over two weeks ago, my phone of 7 years died. I'm not working anywhere and with what little money in savings from my last job I was able to buy a cheap Blu Studio phone. Well yesterday my SSD from my Computer decided it wanted to die as well. Yesterday morning PC as working fine. I went downstairs to feed and walk the dogs, when I came back I was greeted with this screen:

(Not my Photo)

So I did what it told me, then I was greeted with this screen:

(Not my Photo, mine didn't have an hp link)

Checked my phone to troubleshoot, changed the cables. That seemed to work, cept the computer was moving extremely slow. Still I took the time to backup the essentails on DVDs. Short from reinsalling windows I did everything, reset Bios settings, Checked boot order, rebuild bootrec. Computer still runs slow for hours. Then starts working almost normal after that. It's obvious my Hard Drive is failing. I know the signs as I've dealt with a failing drive before. And while I do have a 500gb Hard Drive from an old computer on this one, that one is used to back up files of larger sizes. My PC also didn't come with a Windows 10 CD which is what you need to shift windows to another drive though I doubt there is enough space for both windows and my backups on that Hard Drive.

Honestly I cannot afford a Hard Drive. I just don't have money period. I can't even ebeg. And what's worse is that I have a trial that is online, THIS MONTH, but at the very least I can do that on my Phone. But I also use my PC to find and apply to jobs. To contiune doing Graphic Arts work to keep my skills alive and to express myself. I recently started a blog so that I have a release and that site is on tumblr and the app for that is hell. I just can't anymore. I can't keep up. I'll countine to make backups on DVDs until the PC goes black and that'll be it until I can get a job.

I'm not the brightest either, usually my kid does the repairs.

Question, have you run antivirus/malware/adware software? There are plenty of free ones out there, may not be the best but better than nothing.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

Technology is like people.

If it stops working, hit it with a hammer.

Either it will start working again, or you need a new one.

Either way, the problem is solved.

Get a 32GB USB stick for $5. Run Ubuntu live off the USB stick until you can replace the disk.

Technology doesn't hate you, it just knows you'll soon be unnecessary, like every other human.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Did a System File Checker scan and it did repair files but I was still getting the lag on my PC.
Did Virus scan, maleware scan, Disck Check. All fine, nothing showed up.
Maybe if I threw it in the river behind my house.

Bold mine - I have been tempted to do the same on occasion.
