-ish. Their way is for the government not to do things. Letting them do want they want or shutting the government down achieves that goal, either way. People want it to be a rational negotiation between sober actors, but it's not.

For them this is just good politics. They think hurting the country will hurt biden. They're probably right. I grant that it will probably hurt them just as much if not more, but I refer you back to what Their Way actually is. I don't think they care whether or not their buddies get tossed out on their ass as long as they can hurt americans in the process. The only people they hate more than the dems are each other, apparently.

The extreme babies of the crybaby caucus throw tantrums to prevent elected officials from getting anything done. Their brand is pwning the libs and never compromising. And they get reelected.

The nuts are coming to us from the the districts that are both the screwiest, and the most tightly screwed. With the districts and primaries being what they are - anyone who's so much as taken intro to pol sci could have seen that the magafication of the party was inevitable no matter what the wishes of the voter might be. Sure, they want horrible shit...a whole lot more than we like to acknowledge - remember the yearslong cultural meltdown at the suggestion that magats were racists...but they aren't getting the horrible shit they want even when they get the horrible candidate they do. Ask em, they'll tell you. Slicing up brown babies with razorwire is great! What they really want is some white welfare, though.
Their handlers know this - that's why Joe Biden giving their supporters money in any form is both a bribe and socialism. You can't trust the loyalty of stochastic terrorists. The only way to win and ensure perpetual minority rule is to make absolutely certain that the government works for no one.
