The Political Zoo
Not all political news is noteworthy, so here is a thread specifically for official political stories.

Quote:Republican Adam Kinzinger says he's politically "homeless," and if Trump is the nominee, he'll vote for Biden

Former Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger describes himself as politically "homeless," at odds with a party he views as "anti-constitutionalist." He believes former President Donald Trump will be the 2024 Republican nominee — and if that's the case, Kinzinger intends to vote for President Biden.

Three Maori members of Parliament, in the traditional oath of allegiance to King Charles (New Zealand’s head of state), altered the oath ever so slightly. Instead of ‘Kingi Tiare’, which means ‘King Charles’, they used the phrase ‘Kingi Harehare’, which means ‘King Skin Rash.’

I support my Maori brethren.

I was just wondering, whatever happened to the blonde Trump of Britain?

Too bad we cannot seem to as easily dismiss the problem infant of the US.

Unfortunately, Trump isn't the kind of person who will just fade away quietly.

Ha!  Welcome to my hell Adam.  You have to wonder, did he just now figure it out, or had he always known?

Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

It's possible that the right-wing mindset is genetic:

Quote:Right-Wing Authoritarianism (RWA) and Social Dominance Orientation (SDO) are often regarded as two basic dimensions of individual differences in socio-political attitudes. Since both RWA and SDO are powerful predictors of various kinds of political beliefs and prejudices, a fair amount of prior research has been conducted to examine etiological factors contributing to individual differences in both. According to the Dual Process Model (DPM), RWA and SDO are each caused by distinct personality dispositions and socialization experiences. The present study examines these assumptions using data from the German TwinLife study.
