What exactly is a "spiritual atheist"? That's an explanation I've got to hear.

No, one who partakes in strong hallucinogens.

Welcome.

I presume it is quite easy to be a spiritual atheist. You don't have to believe in deities to be spiritual. That being said, spirituality is something I have always found to be a bit hokey. Hope you're not hokey, new guy.

Why not search it out and find the many articles that give you an explanation you can either choose to accept or deny?

As for my personal affinity for the term, it relates to being invested in the rational material world, without cleaving to superstitions and mythologies affording anthropomorphic Deific effigies as mirrors for the cause and effect behind our accomplishments or transgressions.

Spiritual atheism, for me, is investing myself in charity, environmentalism, introspection.
I've amended my profile and religious views. I didn't realize it would be made public on every post. I thought it was only something to be displayed if one visited my profile.

Nah, I moved on from hokey a long time ago. Now I'm just balderdash with a side of wry humor. Tongue

Thanks all for the welcome. Smile

So what does 'spiritual' mean to you then Judie? You seem to be more metaphysical naturalist/ dysteleologically bent?
