Singer Amy Winehouse found dead

RE: Singer Amy Winehouse found dead
I didn't wish her dead.

What I do wish, however, is that her stupid, drug induced death never made headlines.

I've little sympathy for some shitwit who has all the money in the world for counseling et al and then throws it all down the shitter.

Scratch that, I've no sympathy.

I really despise people who have all the resources and none of the brains, cause quite a few other promising people down on their luck could've used that medical and psych intervention to get back on their feet.

No sympathy.

To think, there are loads of people working hard all day all week to earn a decent living, she makes a few lousy songs and ends up with a few million. And what does she do with her easy life with all her money? Blows it on drink and drugs. TA...WAT!!!

She did it to herself.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

To be honest, if I made it big for little effort, I'd waste money on weed, Tesla Roadsters and lobbying for space travel and aggressive recruitment campaigns for SpaceX.

But I'm a simple man. Which is why the powers that be never reward me. Wink

I am somewhat dismayed at the lack of humanity shown here towards the death of someone of whom we know only what the media presents to us.
I don't particularly rate her as an artist and don't have any of her stuff in my collection.
However, she was 27 years old, a good age to die in rock terms. She joins a host of creative artists who lived fast and died young.

You can say that the media blow things out of proportion, but when there are videos of you stumbling around drunk, or reports from fans that you are slurring words and failing to sing songs correctly at gigs, you have have to wonder how much of it you can put down to "the media".

She was a train wreck; I don't think there is any way of denying that. Media or no media, it's hard to look at Amy Winehouse and not think she was messed up on drugs.

Can you not show sympathy for such a person? Is that too much to ask?

No, 3 is, 27 is a multiple though.

It wasn't to my taste but I believe she was a talented musician. I don't think the cause of death has been released yet but I hope it wasn't too unpleasant.

Where did he say he was not sympathetic? Just stating what is obvious if you ask me.

I don't think there's a lack of sympathy, seeing as she died way too young. It's a real shame and I don't think anyone's denying that. It's just that she did do it to herself. She threw her life away. Shame that she died very young, and a shame that she had pretty much no thought or care about her own life. She wasn't looking after herself...at all!
The human body requires maintenance, it doesn't run on alcohol and drugs. In fact running on that stuff is a good way to fuck the bloody thing up.
She had millions, she could of given herself a good healthy and easy life. She chose drink and drugs. Nuff said.

My sympathy goes out to her family, and if she didn't die as a result of her own actions, then they are with them even more so. However, I do not feel the need to show sympathy for people who obviously needed help and didn't try to get it, or whose family knew they needed help and didn't try to get it for them. In that regard, I show pity.
