Greetings
Hello everyone, I've finally decided to post an introduction thread after lurking the forums for several weeks or so.

I've considered myself an atheist for several years now. My father converted to Christianity when I was just about 10 years old. I attended church and bible study with him constantly for several years following until I began having issues with what the bible was saying, and the basic idea of God in general.

There's really not much story to me. I began questioning religion, and here I am. Happy as can be!

The forum seems really nice, I hope I will fit in.

So you're panic? Or was that pain? Hell... either way you serve Mars.

I knew Mars. Fascinating guy. Not doing too well under paris these days. And you can thank his wife for that.

Welcome.

RE: Greetings

Welcome aboard. As I neither own nor moderate this form (nor am I an atheist), I reserve the right to welcome all here, until someone tells me to quit.

Fear and terror are pointless synonyms to have for cronies.

RE: Greetings
Mars is distinctly different from Ares. Mars is not only the god of war, but also agriculture and fertility (necessities of war by the time). Ares is simply war. His sons as charioteers represented the fear of loss, and the machinations of the cosmos that made such loss possible (this is also why Aphrodite is sourced as the mother, to connect the ideas of love and loss). Under roman guidance this particular aspect was removed. One is a god of war and death, the other war and life. One is feared, the other revered.

But wtf do I know about gods, damned atheist. Argue
By the by, Mars/Ares is actually the only pair of greek to roman transfers that changed meaning significantly. The two civilizations had a very different view of war.

RE: Greetings
I'm aware, just stating that they are the same character supplanted to different peoples, who then shaped those characters. While Ares and Mars are the same being, Mars is older and I like to think wiser.

Imagine what this means for the Christian gods Tongue
