Yes, I am.

Asylums can only hold me for so long. It's easy to convince people I'm sane.

And isn't being a rapist all about control? I gave up pretending I had any semblance of that a long time ago.

There is no such thing as too much boobs.

No: desire.

Same as thievery, intentional murder, piracy, money laundering, and eating potatoes. Why? Because you want to more than you want to avoid the effects of doing so. Often, only for a brief while you engage in the act, and then later comes the regret for being weak Smile

Well....you'd think so but the NRA has other ideas.

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/03/us/03g...odayspaper

Quote:Across the country, states are increasingly allowing people like Mr. French, who lost their firearm rights because of mental illness, to petition to have them restored.

A handful of states have had such restoration laws on their books for some time, but with little notice, more than 20 states have passed similar measures since 2008. This surge can be traced to a law passed by Congress after the 2007 massacre at Virginia Tech that was actually meant to make it harder for people with mental illness to get guns.

As a condition of its support for the measure, the National Rifle Association extracted a concession: the inclusion of a mechanism for restoring firearms rights to those who lost them for mental health reasons.

In fact, if you read the 2d amendment as the gun nuts want it read:
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.. Looking up the word "infringed" seems to mean any restriction at all and the 2d amendment says nothing about crazy people... or criminals... being excluded for that matter.

Should punishment or judgement be everlasting Min? Appeals and petitions are hard to argue against. The content of the appeal or petition (and the situation that lead to the judgement) is a different story, obviously.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Not very well. One wonders why we make laws that we fail to enforce.

I don't know the situation on the ground in Arizona, but in FL you are (supposedly) no longer allowed to purchase a firearm after you've committed a felony. Some non violent felonies include most drug related offenses, and dui's. The 3 time stoner shouldn't be allowed to go deer hunting? Guy gets drunk and makes a bad decision and he shouldn't be allowed to go to the range ever again? Abuse of these laws is not a one way street.

You have guns, and you're not a murderous NRA gun nut. But you may be one hair away from pissing off the powers that be at any moment and finding yourself in a similar situation.
Why does it always feel like I'm arguing against a completely separate point in these discussions?

Just because a person is a member of the NRA it doesn't make them a "gun nut". The NRA is a lobbyist group that is responsible for the protection of the second amendment. The second amendment is necessary to give the constitution a backbone. Without it the government could do whatever they want without fear of reprisal from the people. When you have a people afraid of government you have tyranny where the government is afraid of the people you have liberty. So, both believers and non believers alike without the second amendment you couldn't have your precious 1st amendment. So in the words of the right wing " Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition"
