9/11 conspiracy theories

RE: 9/11 conspiracy theories
Quote:Conspiracy theorists say: The Twin Towers were destroyed by controlled demolitions. Theories relate to the rapid collapse (about 10 seconds), the relatively short-lived fires (56 minutes in World Trade Center 2 or 102 minutes in World Trade Center 1), reports of the sounds of explosions shortly before the collapse, and the violent ejections that could be seen at some windows many floors below the collapse.
Are they still arguing that inane bullshit? Its remarkably how anyone can make those baseless assertions and expect to be taken seriously. You don't even require any qualifications in engineering to appreciate those damaged buildings were coming down, and they did come down. These guys are stubborn like creationists, but instead of wilfully ignoring all the scientific progress we're made, they fly in the face of all the collapse footage that's up on YouTube. I can watch the video clips right now and there's not a single shred of evidence it was ever a controlled demolition. >.>

Certain people want the government to stay out of everything except this it seems.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The attacks of 9/11 were perpetrated by the US government? For what purpose? To invade Afghanistan?

Anyone who believes that is either an easily influenced dimwit or an asshole.

Not sure but very likely, IMO. Here's a possible reason for the invasion:

"This conclusion is reinforced by reports indicating that the United States had made the decision to invade Afghanistan two months before the 9/11 attacks. At least part of the background to this decision was the United States’ long-time support for UNOCAL’s proposed pipeline, which would transport oil and natural gas from the Caspian Sea region to the Indian Ocean through Afghanistan and Pakistan. This project had been stymied through the 1990s because of the civil war that had been going on in Afghanistan since the Soviet withdrawal in 1989."

Really, a pipeline? Had we spent the money consumed by the invasion bribing the locals how many such pipelines could have been built? Give the U.S. Govt some credit, they're practiced criminals. This heavy handed shit is beyond the pale.

So you think it's "very likely" the US government perpetrated the catastrophe of 9/11?

See my previous post.

And you should really stay away from those crank websites.

Yep. A whole army of demolition experts spent months wiring the inner core of the WTC and no one fucking noticed.

It's why I call it a "religion." You'd have to be fucking crazy to believe any of it.

The pipeline may be just a small part of the story. There could be another reason for the invasion, which is, because there is also has a huge amount of mineral deposits and rare-earth metals in the country that the CIA and Pentagon officials may have known about (although in the media you'll see that they are trying to make an impression as if they just 'suddenly' found these minerals after going there). Here's a quote from an article in The New York Times:

Quote:WASHINGTON — The United States has discovered nearly $1 trillion in untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan, far beyond any previously known reserves and enough to fundamentally alter the Afghan economy and perhaps the Afghan war itself, according to senior American government officials.

The previously unknown deposits — including huge veins of iron, copper, cobalt, gold and critical industrial metals like lithium — are so big and include so many minerals that are essential to modern industry that Afghanistan could eventually be transformed into one of the most important mining centers in the world, the United States officials believe.

This is also good for making laptops, cell phones, and all that stuff:

Quote:An internal Pentagon memo, for example, states that Afghanistan could become the “Saudi Arabia of lithium,” a key raw material in the manufacture of batteries for laptops and BlackBerrys.

@ Thor and Minimalist:

I don't believe that these are crank websites. There is more evidence that the attack may have been a false-flag terror in a book entitled "9/11 Synthetic Terror: Made in USA," written by a non-Muslim (Webster Tarpley), which I also mentioned in post # 8 with a link. He supports his arguments with a wealth of data and facts about 9/11 which should not be discredited as something crazy, religious, or bullshit until you read it yourself and look at all the arguments provided therein. However, it's fine with me if you still don't believe any of this. You guys can believe whatever that you want to.
