Apparently what matters most is, "who" is doing the losing.

It's rather difficult to envision how the majority would be doing less losing if the banking system were to actually collapse.

That's like saying a party for genocide is a... Party for birth control.

With factories being built (for jobs), and more exports (from factories) will slowly get the US out of its $14.71 trillion dollars in public debt. This also will turn the US into a classless nation, this means, equality. That can solve healthcare issues. Agree, or no? Why or why not?
I forgot to mention... Heres your proof
Comparison of all-in-all debts owed
US: About 250%
Russia: 79%
You see where I'm going with this?

Please read up the economic histories of countries which have implemented state ownership and control of industries. Such as Cuba, Former Soviet Union, China before economic liberalisation in the 1980's, North Korea and even cases like India or Great Britain where the government control over the economy was a lot less than those countries above.

Having an extensive welfare state does not make a nation's economy socialist, unless it had at the same time a lot of state ownership and control of the economy. I think America can balance it's budget and eventually pay down it's debt, it just needs to cut spending (currently at 38.9% of GDP) and increase taxes (at the moment 27% of GDP).

As nice as the socialist idea is, I would much rather see the current system collapse... Let a bit of chaos into your lives...

A lil' bit of anarchy is welcomed in my world.

I'd love to see the day when America embraces Socialism.
But seeing as we are a long way off that condition in the UK even though a strong Socialist tradition exists and continues, I'm not holding my breath!

The history of last 4 decades suggest the american polity lacks the wherewithal to effectively address chronic economic malaise. Most victims in the pot would not rebel effectively against being slowly roasted to death so long as the temperature is periodically turned down slight for short interval in great rousing ceremonies.
America won't embrace anything like a significant and effective change to its current course of barely-controlled-flight-into-terrain unless it were to simultaneously experience very acute social and economic dislocation that would crush opposition to institutional change, while regaining fiscal spending power to effectively implement the change. otherwise we'll fly into the ground maybe a little to the left or right, but we can't avoid hitting the ground.
The only way I see this happening is defeat in

The US will collapse if it keeps this up. Can we all agree on that?

Collapse is a vague word that pins down nothing. The US by virtue of it's geographic isolation, large and growing population, lack of nearby competitors, will probably remain a cohesive and viable state and inside the top 5 in international infleuence for the foreseeable future. But as leading nation to be envied and respected for its economic, scientific and technological dynamism, exemplar of modernity, and the focus of cultural and ideological soft power, I think it's lead is swiftly diminishing. The fact that it can no longer afford to cash outlay it use to command to influence events aboard will only speed it's decline towards marginal relevance in important parts of the world.

Within 15 years it would still remain as self-absorbed as now, but will no longer be held in any special position for foreign powers. It will be just one of the lesser sources of influence in all parts of the world, and in most parts, including the really important bits in Europe, east Asia, and the middle east, it's voice will only be second or third in priority.

Yes that was the horseshit line used by the bankers to stampede congress. Who knows...perhaps it was true but the corporate cocksuckers weren't taking any chances when it came to their well being. Recall that congress initially said "no."

First time in their lives they showed any balls at all and it didn't last.
