I just wanted to give simple and straightforward answers. I didn't want you to take my answers too seriously either (hence I put a Tongue in my post).
Sometimes I don't have enough time to put so much humor into them. And of course, I don't have to! Big Grin

come on now..you sat there scratching your head considering the difference between 72 virgins and a well trained hooker...

Come on...admit it.

The 72 virgins and hooker questions are not the ones that got me scratching.

Those and some of the other questions like the hummus and bacon ones are obviously not serious questions. However, there were 3 questions which sounded like genuine questions to me which are #s 1, 8, and 9. I think those are good questions and they require more thought to answer than the other ones.

The point is that you wrote some silly questions along with a few good ones. You stuck in a few questions that would challenge me to think harder about my beliefs (which is not bad thing) while the rest are mainly jokes. Therefore, I agree that you were kidding with me, for the most part, but I don’t think you were totally kidding. Tongue

To be honest, when I read the story of Iblis, that was the first thing I asked myself. "How can fire be alive?"

Regarding one of your answers to a question; When it comes to Islam with Atheists, yeah you're wasting your time if you defend or prop up Islam, just the way it is when the penalty for apostasy is death

Absolutely; I'd certainly prefer four women. Tiger

Among the Muslims I've known,I've never met one who had more than one wife.

Why? The cost for one thing. Islam requires that each wife (and the children) be treated equally, with her own house. Hence a person with four wives could find himself supporting four households and a dozen or more children.

Plus having ONE happy marriage is hard enough. (I couldn't manage it)

Rayaan; excellent post thank you.

I have no problem with the notion of an arranged marriage.Seriously, my parents could not have possibly made a worse choice than I made for myself. Are you not permitted to decline their choice?

Are you wasting your time? Not for me to say; it's your time..

You're only 24? I'm a bit stunned;the level of maturity, good humour and acceptance you show here constantly is remarkable in so young a man. I had assumed you were in your 40's. (my apologies if that sounds patronising)

Well, frankly, I don't think that defending Islam is a waste of my time.

Aside from that, there are other reasons why I come to this forum, which are mainly to expand my knowledge, discuss with people, make some jokes, get new ideas, and learn about other religions as well. These are things that I find to be the most valuable in my life. So, that's why I am here.

You're welcome. I'm glad that you liked it. Hopefully, now you have a slightly better understanding of me.

Yes, I'm permitted to decline their choice for me because Muslim parents are not allowed to choose someone for their children against their own will.

And I certainly feel that my time here is worth it.

Now I'm 25.

And my level of maturity, humor, and acceptance is probably just a matter of ... a matter of mind over age?
But thanks for the compliment. Big Grin

No problem at all, pad. Things like that happen.

I already had my age written on my profile, though. I suppose you didn't know that before. But that's okay. Tongue

Which is why he won Best Theist, and also why he is a valued member of the staff team.
