Hello.

RE: Hello.
To me the scary part is the thought of forever. In both cases. Forever the void or forever alive. I can't imagine either lasting forever without end. Both seem a lot more comfortable to me if there is to be something else after it. Does that make sense?
If I die and god is real, im so screwed.

Being confused about religion is a good start! It shows that you've made an effort in critical thinking. Welcome! Big Grin

I'm sorry I didn't answer you before.
Quote:But seriously, what's there to be afraid about the void?
I think that God and an afterlife is a more frightening thought than the void because the void can't even do anything.
Well, I don't think I can even picture "non-existence", because as long as I know myself, I existed.
It's fairly certain that I'd like for myself to continue existing, in whatever afterlife might await me after death.
Hope.
Quote:Nice to see you've made an intro. I'm less inclined to think you are a troll now

Welcome aboard.
Well, I post on another atheist forum aswell, but I'm fairly well known there.
I'm pretty sure that some of the posters there have accounts here aswell, you ask them.
Quote: I just think that if we die and there is a void, at least we won't have fear, as our brains generate fear, and our brains will be beginning to rot by then. I think it would be awful to have our consciousness live on and have awareness that we are no longer apart of the living world. That would be immensely depressing.
Well, I'd rather be conscious and lack a body, than lack both.
