Evidence? NOT! Proof? NOT!

Wow.. That poor idiot really believes in the shit he spews. What bloody barrier is there between salt and fresh water? Did I hear him say that the mountains keep the earth from shaking? And the worst part? People applauding him. Nutcases.. *shakes head*

And the machine metaphor, no, I would take it apart piece by piece to understand it myself Big Grin
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

I don't have to point out any sort of disorder whatsoever here Ruh. Planets don't need gods to fix and maintain their orbits, water doesn't rely on magic to pass through the cycle. When ignorant people made these observations they explained them by way of god. We no longer have need of such an empty "explanation".

????

well there is still a lot of fundamental things we can't explain

for example... why is gravity a law in our universe?

What makes a small planet like earth to be attracted and orbit around the sun? Gravity is just an observation....but the cause is not known.

And I should note...that the man who mathematically recognized gravity...Issac Newton, was a very very religious man.

The point is.... it is hard to notice God's work when one is distracted because they're living a (micro) secular life, in a highly-superficial/speculative service-based economy, where corruption is around them, where people only work for the money, glitz and glamor.

If it wasn't for the fraudulent economy based on fiat-currency, the most admired jobs wouldn't be in the service industry compromised of mostly superficial jobs such as entertainment (film, athletics, media, journalism) or pushing paper (lawyers, politicians, finance industry, regulations, compliance, insurance, business administration, sales)....etc. Instead, the most admired jobs would be ones where you get to encounter nature first hand and are actually working on expanding human knowledge. These jobs would be in sectors such as engineering, science, medical, agriculture, forestry, mining, ...etc. When people are closer to nature, they see God's beauty first hand and they are more productive to society.

Let me fix that for you:

"The point is.... it is hard to notice God's work."

There is a reason for this, and it has nothing to do with economics, gravity, or any other real thing.

Yep, mohammad...all you have to do is prove that your boy, allah is real and everything else will fall into line.

You just have that one little hurdle to get over.

it has everything to do with the current economic system in place....

If you look at the more productive period of human history where the economy was based on production/savings, majority weren't wasting their time on questioning the existence of God, instead they were studying science, math and looking for the answers themselves and in the process improving technology.

Ah yes, so now we have the cost of a god itemized, with advances in science, medicine, longevity, literacy, and the general quality of life set against making extra time to worship. These people whose counterparts were so busy still exist today, and the majority of them are not particularly religious.

Insane to surmise that people were more productive in the Renaissance-but consistent with religion, because it is an insanity.

Obviously you have slept through any dissertations on the workings of economics. Economists and atheists do not spend their time questioning the existence of god. Economics is secular by nature and atheists do not subscribe to a belief in a god or gods, ergo, nothing to question.

And this "more productive period of human history" was when? I bought a calculator for $400 in the late 70s. Today I can buy a computer for less than that (in equivalent dollars, about $40-$50) and the comparative difference is astronomical.

Firstly, the first adopters always have to pay a higher amount. Secondly, there was high inflation around the world during the 70s--so prices were higher than they should be. Thirdly, if the economy was more sound (no paper currency)-- it would cost you an equivalent of probably $2 or less and not $40.

Also speaking of progress... in the 1950s the average wage of someone with only a high-school education was $35/hr in today's USD. Today the average wage of someone with a high school education is $15/hr. Now that is great "progress", is it not?

I'll address these economic issues in another thread later... just note that the most technological achievements (life-changing inventions) the western world achieved (like the invention of the light bulb, refrigerator, airplane, car, washing machine, dryer, vacuum, ...etc.) was all thanks to a sound economy (that was inline with Islam's approach to the economy) and majority of population believed in God. Islam enjoyed a similar experience during its golden age--but when people start to focus on managing the economy at the macro level that is when things fell apart.

Today, the secular world's biggest sector is the service sector where wealth is not being created and instead just being siphoned and redistributed. If people stop giving into glitz/glamor and stop going for superficial jobs and instead focusing on our enviroment and god's creations...we would be expanding human knowledge at a much faster rate and actually contribute to making real life-changing inventions.
