Spousal rape was only repealed in UK in 91/92. But the we still have bishops in the house of lords.

And it usually feels like this:

From here there's abundant options. Pillow punching, cutting, drugs, drinking, suicidal desires, various self-maiming, punching walls and mirrors and floors, kicking walls and mirrors and stomping, other violent options, plenty of crying to accompany most of it, curling into the fetal position, gorging on food, escaping reality into the worlds of movies, books, games.

What everyone else sees.

Pictures aren't necessarily in order.

Nobody is weaker because of their gender... not in mind and not in body. Anyone weak in any area can be abused (often easily) by someone strong in that area. Many of my fellow women can easily overpower me, and a good number of men cannot.

I don't disagree with your intent in saying that... I just have some bitter vitriol needing a little release right now.

I agree, Women are no better and no worse than men. It then follows that false accusations of rape are a concern as it is likely that instead of the accused being a despicable human being, the accuser is (I'm not calling rape victims despicable, i'm calling false accusers of rape it, the problem is figuring out which they are). How then would it be proven one way or the other? I went to the same school as a bloke who was falsely accused of rape (when he was 15ish), but by a girl he'd just met, not a girlfriend or anything. Seems to me proving it (Unless the person raped was also severely beaten) is even harder if they are in a relationship.

The nighty comment was a bit suspicious (no torn clothes?) but then so is this smear campaign. From this clip it is only clear that he was talking about trying to get a conviction when there was no injury. I'm not gonna defend the guy, I don't know the context of what he was saying it in but "I do not know how on earth you could validly get a conviction of a husband/wife living together, sleeping in the same bed, she's wearing a nighty and so forth, there is no injury, there is no separation or anything". He's right, it would be bloody difficult to get validly get a conviction. It's what this politician said before and after that comment that is of greater importance. What did he then propose as a solution, or what was he arguing for?

Every family's nightmare (documentary about the guy)

I totally agree with you, so it think I didn't make my point clear.
The ones I was accusing of being "weak" are those idiots, who claim women to be weaker, demands them to dress "modestly" and sort to rape if they find them to appealing and later say that "she was asking for it!". Men who think they have such high morals, and then can't stop themselves when they see a bit of ankle or any other alluring piece of flesh I seriously find weak. But no, that doesn't mean that I put every single guy into that category, just those hypocrites. Smile
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Gotta love the victim blaming going on in this thread. "Why'd you marry an asshole in the first place?" Does it fucking matter?
That will never hold up in court...

No, it doesn't. Sometimes people become assholes over night - I do hate to break it to you (the general 'you'). You don't always know a person.

Well, why not? Some people still do remain married. I know a few woman who suffered abuse under their husbands, who were generally alcoholics and without a job. Yet they did not divorce them for some reason I don't understand. And well, she was also earning well, too, at least to Turkish standards.
Not that she loved him very much either..I don't know if she was ever raped or whatever...But I know that her husband beat her, she told me.

I'd amend that to you sometimes know (very well) a mask that a person puts forth. Smile

Sometimes they are trapped in the marriage (ie have no way of supporting themselves), sometimes the abusive spouse threatens to kill them if they leave, sometimes they are blinded by love.

But none of that matters.

If someone is mugged, do you blame them for carrying around a wallet? If someone is hit by a drunk driver, do you blame them for driving in the first place? If someone's house is robbed, do you blame them for having nice things?

No one deserves to be raped, and no one brings it upon themselves.
That will never hold up in court...
