I wouldn't. mainly because it sort of goes against everything that we Atheists claim to be.
I became an Atheist because I continued to question, doubt and seek truth, not because of blind faith. I don't believe that turning theists into mindless followers of our beliefs would really change much at all, do you? No. Just like the other thread on everyone becoming bisexual and stopping homophobia, I said no because variety is the spice of life.

No I would definitely not push that button It is so tempting to do such a thing as the dark side of my mind is screaming at me to do so and on paper it looks like a no brainer. But I would prefer to see conversion through employment of logic and reason rather than by other means which is why I have given the two opposite answers Actually it matters not one iota what anyone believes in. But whether we all treat each other as human beings. If we all did that I would gladly live in a world in which everyone was a theist and I was the only atheist man. Seriously [ And mean man as in American slang and not as in possession of a pair of testicles ]

If I could build a button like that, I'd build one that would make every human on earth think rationally & critically. They could then still make up their own minds, but I have a feeling that religion would become irrelevant.

Nope. Making people atheists doesn't make them think. That would merely be treating the symptom, instead of actually curing the disease.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. I'd push the button. Absolutely no problem.
The "mindless followers" excuse for not pushing the button is irrelevant, because if they were turned into atheists that would mean they were turned into people that thought for themselves. All atheists think for themselves? Aren't we generalizing a bit there, Norfolk? The button would make them atheists, not independent thinkers.
