Username/Avatar ... why oh why?
Easy questions here...

Why did you choose the username you go by?

Why did you choose the avatar you use?

note to Ads and Mods... feel free to move or combine this with a previous thread of the same genre, as I am sure this is not an original question, but I wish not to dig up a Zombie thread.

The absence of all empirical evidence for the necessity of intuitive X existing is evidence against the necessary empirical existence of intuitive X - MoS (variation of 180proof)

Athesim is not a system of belief, but rather a single answer to a single question. It is the designation applied by theists to those who do not share their assumption that a god/deity exists. - MoS

I am not one to attribute godlike qualities to things that I am unable to understand. I may never be in the position to understand certain things, but I am not about to create an anthropomorphic deity out of my short-commings. I wish not to errect a monument to my own personal ignorace and demand that others worship this proxy of ego. - MoS

RE: Username/Avatar... why oh why?
We've got a couple of these threads already made, but I'll bite.

The Winter Saint gave me this name. I was having a rough time and he was trying to remind me of how strong I really was. In and amongst that we were arguing about which season was better (you can deduce which sides we came down on) and he told me at the end of the conversation that I was his "Once and Future Summer Queen". It works because I am a gardener, and also one of my favorite quotes which is in my signature.

My avatar is the same one I have across all social media. It's me. It'll likely change the next time I get snappy with a camera.

I just had a thought... happens once in a great while...

Why don't we have this thread in the Introduction section and not have it migrate to the realms of the dead thread department? This way new members who come to the Forum can express the "whys" as to username/avatar without too much redundancy in the eyes of the old and dusty "has beens" who have been lurking here for quite a while now.

Just a suggestion... if it flys, feel free to re-write this thread, I don't need the credit and "pin it" in the intro section for all to make their claims of personal "self-expression"... or should I say "justify the existence of their vitrual alter-ego...?

So I take it that the use of Viagra for you would probably be ill advised... you might poke an eye out or possibly trip someone unintentionally?

I was aware of "boning wood" to make a baseball bats, but the oak tree hybrid here brings a new twist to this concept. Big Grin

It should reduces the frequency of a "repeat thread syndrome", pinning it may remove the cause of the symptoms and present a cure? (less work for the Ads and Mods! Yippie!!!)

Damned complicated way of saying "sure". I obviously need more espresso.

1. Username.... Because I am the most creative person in the entire world.. hence.. I chose "Heather" as my username. Don't be jealous.

2. Unicorns because there is as much evidence that they exist as that "god" exists and they are much prettier.

1. I got older and it was time for a new name. And because I like being referred to as Syn (pronounced 'sin').

2. I've yet to find a better avatar than an esteemed Executor.
