are people getting tired of my threads?

Apparently not. Two pages... this thread is going places. *shrug*

edit: and by commenting that it was two pages I made it three. It is cool because I did it ironically, and by ironically I mean by complete accident.

Everyone loves a "my sex is weirder than yours" and "I'm more socially repressed than you" thread. Big Grin

Oh, shoot me. I'm an asshole.

Best advice you'll ever get about FB.

If you insist on putting things out there, like your sexual preference, your religiosity or lackthereof, or just "screaming to the nets" like I have a habit of doing in order to externalize some of the shit that goes on in my head, learn to use the delete function.

Use it on yourself OR use it on people's comments if you don't like them.

Dear people, FB is not a democracy where people's comments have to stay forever. If you don't like someone's tone, delete it. If it pisses them off, unfriend them.

You are who you are and I don't think you should "hide" what you are because you're afraid of controversy or someone making an inappropriate comment. If you don't want anyone to come onto your wall and post their view, there is a security feature that makes it so only YOU can post status messages and no one can write on your wall.

I don't know why people put up with shit on Social sites. Just because someone else posted something doesn't make it sacred and set in stone.

I WISH people would come and cause controversy on my page. At night though - I can't access it at work.

Yup. Well, I'm just a vegetarian, but still I'm looked at as abnormal.

That's some good advice there.

How about a black, handicapped, elderly, atheist, feminist, pansexual, vegan with radical political beliefs... and suddenly it just got impossible.

It was a joke.
That will never hold up in court...

I'm thinking Sophia is just Sophia, so I gave her kudos for coming out.

What I know about shit like that; there is dual-state identity - which applies to like everything - in this case, the "I" vs. the "I" I am the artist ellenjanuary - say that like nothing, now; but the first step was naming myself in November of 1995... and what a fucking journey did that LSD initiate. Whoo-doggie. Which means that the insidious form of oppression seems to be self-oppression initiated by a maturing morality coming into conflict with existing ethical standard.

As for disadvantages; well I'm clinically insane - unspecified psychosis - a convicted felon... that enough? Big Grin

Advantages? ellenjanuary. I wanna go somewhere, I put my shoes on. Lately I've been a resident of Phoenix. I come outta the joint, I live in the bushes, I draw a certain blond - and two years later, I'm offered a position as construction superintendent. Which is to say, no experience, no references, all the deck stacked against me... but fuck a deck, I got identity. That's the thing to have. Wink

So! Seems like Sophia is finding hers, and that's a good thing. Facebook, however; officially sucks the hog. I tried to operate that environment twice, I'm not thinking there's gonna be a third attempt.
