The local symphony is doing Handel's Messiah and because Symphony Hall is tied up with some fucking ballet they do it in churches around Phoenix. Anybody got any messages you want me to give "jesus?"

Tell him that aleialoura is not scared and not sorry, and then casually scratch your chin with your middle finger in his general direction.

In a relatively free society, being free to give offence is crucial to free speech. Believers are offended by a mild atheist message? My response is the same as theirs to me when they get in MY face with their personal superstions and prejudices; El fucking stiffo Angry

I think a much more subtle approach would have worked better..... like a stable full of animals with no humans to be found. I'd like to see the reaction to THAT!

Or a simple statue of Ted Neeley smoking a joint.
'The difference between a Miracle and a Fact is exactly the difference between a mermaid and seal. It could not be expressed better.'

"I think that in the discussion of natural problems we ought to begin not with the scriptures, but with experiments, demonstrations, and observations".

- Galileo Galilei (1564-1642)

"In short, Meyer has shown that his first disastrous book was not a fluke: he is capable of going into any field in which he has no training or research experience and botching it just as badly as he did molecular biology. As I've written before, if you are a complete amateur and don't understand a subject, don't demonstrate the Dunning-Kruger effect by writing a book about it and proving your ignorance to everyone else! I fucking hate Christmas. Devil

With that tidbit out of the way, whatever atheists do about it is better that whatever other people do about it.

Tell him I could use a hand fixing the brakes on my Mustang tomorrow. All the beer he can drink, if that helps.

"Better' is your subjective opinion, which I do not share.

I think the believers doing all the complaining are far too stupid to grasp the subtle message of your idea.

However, diversity is good. The limits are only those imposed by imagination, law and money, certainly not good taste or fear of giving offence. Fuck 'em; tit-for-tat.

100% Agreed... The atheist movement needs both approaches.... (just like christians have evangelicals... and apathetic catholics?)

They could have taken on board the holiday spirit and made some nice festive displays, or celebrated science, etc. There is a reason why so many atheists are hated in the USA...it's because of insensitive shit like this.

Over here, most atheists I know celebrate Christmas along with everyone else. Yes, we call it "Christmas" and sing carols, watch nativity plays, and generally have a festive time.

Just my two cents...

...and over here you lose your job if let slip you are an atheist in most scenereos. Where you live is much more atheist friendly then where we live.

Yeah...tell him to get off his dead ass and be a REAL savior by protecting children from getting raped and murdered.
