Academic studies seem contrary (usually indicating a complex picture). For example, here is an extensive academic review of published evidence, supporting the view that exposure to violent video games...

Whateverist. What you describe sounds more like the Platonic view of a 'demiurge' where there are a succession of created beings, the last of which created what we see. Some forms of Gnosticism took ...

Fair enough Chad. I don't come from a 'sola scriptura' background so can't really go down that route with you. But I quite understand that if that's the tradition you came from then you'll probably na...

Chad, it's interesting that you assume all punishment is the same. That's certainly not the Judeo-Christian tradition. Dante, for example, has the 'nine circles of hell' in his famous 'Inferno' (with ...

Hi Satsujin. For me that example (of the sun approaching Earth) would fall short of proof of anything as soon as I wondered 'could I be in a dream here?'

Boru. The way I see it is that mercy must always start from a position of justice. Without justice, mercy means nothing. So mercy is a layer on top of justice, or as Shakespeare so poetically put it, ...

Hi Satsujin. It's really hard to find conclusive proof that we ourselves exist, or that anything we perceive as real is really real. I don't think it's possible to have conclusive proof of God's exist...

Chad I think when we talk about love, justice and mercy, then those words should have a consistency when we use them, whether we are talking about God or a person. So I would say the love of God re...

Fidel. Faith schools are slightly under-funded compared with the 'under-funded state comprehensive' (in your words). The faith school must find 10% of capital costs itself. There is simply no preferen...
