Isn't it so curious how Jesus lets everyone choose for themselves,

but so many Christians feel that they have the right to "approve" or "disapprove"
or otherwise apply peer-pressure to non-Christians.

I can't think of any place in the Bible where Jesus told them to do that to non-believers.

I'm completely out, except with my plumber.
I sought of pretend I'm slightly religious and even agree with some of his outrageous claims.
He's the best and cheapest plumber that ever existed and also a super nice guy.
My good mechanic retired last year and my good electrician moved interstate.
Haven't had a good doctor for years.
I just can't afford to lose my last good professional.
I do feel guilty about the lie I have to live when he's around though.

All of my immediate family, and a few other people, know I'm an atheist. My sister seems to want me to keep it a secret from the kids, though I think I've told them at least once that I don't worship Jesus. I don't bring it up unless someone else brings it up, so I don't talk religion much with the girls.

My grandmother would like me to go to church again, but I don't get harrassed for being an atheist.

Mostly out, but my deist husband is in the closet with his family. So I simply avoid the issue with them.

Outside of family, I rarely find it to be an issue anyway. It simply doesn't come up much. When it does, it's usually someone asking where we go to church and I generally just say we don't. Asked why not I'll say I'm an atheist. But it rarely goes that far.

Good friends know.

Evangelists I tell.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

I am like most here, I'm don't walk around with a big tee shirt saying atheist or have Christopher hitchens tattooed on my chest. I take a live and let live attitude, you get along with your life and how you believe and I'll go on with mine. The only exceptions to this are when someone preaches at me, then I'll rip apart every word from your mouth without mercy, or if I am drunk, because I rant sometimes when I'm drunk.

I don't discuss religion (or my lack thereof) with my family period. We already barely speak. That said, if they don't have an inkling I'm not a barnstorming Catholic like the rest of them, they are dumb as fuck.

Everyone else, however, is well aware I'm an atheist. I am not, however, a jerk about it nor do I shove it down peoples throats (as long as they aren't shoving jesus down mine).

One of my family members is definitely atheist like me - my artist brother... I am also closer to him than anyone else in the world, as a kid we used to do everything together.

The rest of my family are either spiritual or unsure really. None of them really believe in a "god" but some of them may think there is some sort of power in the universe and they don't consider themselves strictly atheist. Despite that talking about my atheism seems to irk my family, apart from the elder of my younger brothers, my artist brother.

Hard to say I'm talking about him and not my other brother without mentioning any of their names lol.
