That's the thing, it's not an objective amount. 5 years have passed for space guy, 50 years have passed for earth guy.
If it's objective then only 5 years or 50 years have passed. Which one is it?

If you took my advice to study more physics, because it is what we are talking about, as an insult, then I feel sorry for you.

Seeing your replies to me on this matter just showcase that, I am not going to bother in schooling you, given your youtube grade philosobable and logic. You may crow victory now, IDGAF about your ignorance. Its your problem, not mine.

*over and out*

My argument is that physics and the theory of relativity and the experience of time is not the same thing as actual time or the impossiblity of time travel.

You're telling me to study physics but you haven't actually addressed any of my points.

Either address my points or don't answer me because IDGAF about your ignorance of logic and your poisoning the well over my watching of youtube videos when your own logic level is clearly miles behind that level anyways.

I didn't take you telling me to study physics as an insult. I took it as you being irrelevant and not addressing my points. I'm saying physics isn't relevant to time travel and I'm right.

So here's my confusion: if 60 seconds is 60 second regardless of speed for a person then how does one person age faster than the other?

Exactly it's not an objective amount because science can't even measure objective time. Science requires observers and subjects and can hence only measure subjective and relative time.

Science is a tool to study our experience of the world, not the world itself, and physics is a branch of that.

The point is, yes time travel is a bunch of crap and the theory of relativity is not time travel.

Because there is no 'global' objective time. Just like there is no objective distance or objective speed.
If you are 10 miles away from something and I'm 5 miles away from that same thing, it is objectively 10 miles for you and objectively 5 miles for me, but both are only relative to the other person. Same with time.

What do you mean there is no global or objective time? There is no global objective experience of time, yes. But that's not to say there is no global or objective time.

We could say that time itself is just a concept. But that wouldn't really make much sense at all. The concept of time is a concept. Time itself is, well, time. If it exists at all.

Or we could say that there are many different points in time none of which can be accurately measured but that doesn't mean they don't exist. It would be the B theory of time.

You can't really say there's no objective or global time until you've defined time first. Are you an A theory or a B theorist or neither? If neither what are your
arguments against both camps? Are you an eternalist or presentist? Etc, etc.

Proof of time "travel"?

I'm speaking to you from your future...

Holy crap you're right!! You're several hours ahead of me!

What happens to me in the next few hours? Do I manage to convince anyone that illogical arguments are illogical and I'm not talking about physics or do I implode?
