Now, Admiral Bradley has said that the boat in question wasn’t head to the US at all, but was trying to rendezvous with a larger vessel that was bound for Suriname and transfer its drugs to that boat. Bradley justified the second strike by saying there is always the possibility that drugs in Suriname could eventually wind up in the US. This despite the fact that your DEA says that trafficking routes through Suriname are almost always destined for European markets.
At first, I was upset about Bradley being thrown under the proverbial bus. Now, I’m not so sure.

Right, over the last couple of days he's seemed fine with marching in lockstep with Hegseth. That will probably result in his not being prosecuted. He's gone from "left holding the bag" to "carrying water for" in 48 hours.

I don't normally post stuff both here and AD, but this merits an exception because it's spot-on:
Quote:Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) took his criticism of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth a step further Friday, claiming the Pentagon chief’s recent decisions have “ruined his credibility.”
“I’ve been on the record already,” he told Politico’s Dasha Burns, who also hosts “Ceasefire” on C-SPAN. “After Signalgate, I think I’ve seen enough. What I really wanted to see was someone take responsibility — own to a mistake.”
“And then when he blamed the media or the, you know, the journalist for the story, it just — it ruined his credibility,” he added.
The Nebraska Republican noted that Hegseth “had some issues” going into confirmation hearings, after President Trump tapped him to lead the Pentagon. But, once he was confirmed, Bacon continued, he wanted to give the former Fox News host “a fair chance.”
“But I — what I’ve seen is what I call just poor decision-making,” the lawmaker, who will retire at the end of the term, told Burns.

If you're interested, Episode 38 is currently ramping up to max. There will likely be fire fountains at Kilauea this weekend or early next week.
There are glorious fire fountains in Kilauea's crater right now. The USGS lost a webcam. If you want to see what lava looks like from the inside then watch to the end.

It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature (quoting an old butter commercial).

Exactly the line I had in mind.
