Oh right...I'm debating him in several threads, and forgot which one we were on...my bad...
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

I am so sick of false equivocations. I can't believe that anyone thinks we are going to be fooled by such obvious nonsense.
As I was saying, god is like a dead cactus. Why would you worship a dead cactus? It has no power, and it's dead. And it's a cactus.

Good analogy Rob. And accurate.
Why would you worship a dead cactus?
Because it's sting is still there for those gullible enough to get too close!
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.

Also, you can't prove the dead cactus didn't create the universe. So it did.
You can prove anything to yourself if you don't care about your arguments being valid.

And it's easier to not care if your arguments are valid if you're an insipid moron who sticks his fingers in his ears when he doesn't like what he's hearing. Not every theist is like that, mind you. Some people are just victims of indoctrination and are more or less decent people, but then there are those who are so willfully and gleefully ignorant it makes one wonder how they ever managed to learn anything at all.

Indeed.
I have much more respect for someone who just says "I believe it on faith". At least it is honest. Of course, I would equate faith with indoctrination of some sort. Even those who don't get it directly soak it up subconsciously from society, and some sort of mental break could easily allow it all in under the guise of a divine experience.
It's the horrendous blunder of deceitful arguments that make me shake my head. Religion is not rational, I'm afraid. To try and defend it as such is to make yourself look stupid. Sorry about that, I didn't make the rules.
