BOTW vs. Skyrim

BOTW vs. Skyrim
BOTW looks better than Skyrim, and has more variation in the environment. I also like the game mechanics more in BOTW, such as climbing up the cliffs and being able to dodge an attack and counter rather intuitively. That said, Skyrim has more variation in the enemies you'll fight, and more variation in the side quests. BOTW's map is bigger, though. Also when playing Skyrim, I keep trying to climb cliffs and use the paraglider. There's more dungeons and caves and things like that in Skyrim as well, the lack of which in BOTW was a little disappointing (beyond the 4 divine beasts and a bunch of shrines). Skyrim feels a little dated (it did come out in 2011 after all) and less polished than BOTW does, I think. Though Skyrim has more things you can do in it.

Breath of the Wild (Legend of Zelda). OP is very much comparing apples to oranges.

RE: BOTW vs. Skyrim
I have played both games, and really enjoy both. Yes I miss the ability to climb mountains in Skyrim without that whole sideways hop thing. If I just want to run around and explore, I find BOTW a better game to do it in, and the combat is a bit better there. Not to mention the horses can actually outrun me in that game.

But Skyrim has more perks, and weapons, and they don't break every few fights. Sometimes having better towns, and more epic questlines. The bosses can still be disappointing in both games, though. One game is a vibrant post apocalyptic survival game. The other is a power fantasy rpg. Both open world games, but both quite different.

Never played a legend of Zelda game.

However, Skyrim is still among my favourite games. Especially when you add just a few mods to make it interesting.

My game is modded too. Just a few things to fix some problems, mostly. Kind of sucks when the smithy in my favorite town doesn't have a smelter, and civilians don't know to run inside during a dragon attack. Also the Wintersun: Faiths of skyrim is a really nice improvement on the religion and worship aspect.
