The ACA, no longer enforcing mandatory minimum sentences, Dodd-Frank, reversed Bush's policy on torture, expanded EPA and FDA power, supported same-sex marriage pretty early... there were a lot of things on his agenda that were definitely considered progressive relative to a lot of the other Democrats...
Relative to... sure. Relative to what's reasonable to the rest of the developed nations of the world, not so much. I suppose we're just using different yardsticks. Don't get me wrong, I like the man, I just don't think he was nearly as progressive as what he campaigned as.
