Who controls how rich or poor you are?
Your tax rate and tax breaks. Right?
The same applies to the poor, and I think like Gandhi, who said to impose poverty is violence towards the poor.
A tax break, or minimum income law, would end poverty.
All it takes is the loose change that the rich hoard.

No, my level of wealth is determined by my skill set, the products and services I provide, and the market for those. Taxes are incidental (FWIW, I’m taxed at the top rate where I live, and it hasn’t pushed me into poverty).
The poor (here, at least) are taxed at a markedly lower rate and receive tax credits. I’m not complaining, that’s exactly how it should be.
We give tax breaks and have a minimum wage, and still have poverty.
I don’t doubt that wealth redistribute could ameliorate poverty, but I don’t think it would end it.

The tax system can set a minimum income and that ends poverty.
Taxes not only determine how much wealth you and the rich will retain, just like it does for the poor.
