Let’s say you’ve got a force of, I dunno, a hundred cops. Out of that hundred, you’ve got maybe five who abuse their authority - plant evidence, take bribes, deal weed, whatever. Genuine bad apples. The other 95 are true public servants - they sincerely help people, are adept at defusing tense situations, and so on.
This doesn’t mean you have 95 good cops. You’ve got the five bad apples, plus the ones who don’t turn them in. Which is most of them.

Do you think that maybe - JUST MAYBE - cops are like any other group of people -- and keep their illegal shit tucked away where nobody else gets a look at it????
