We know that perpetual motion isn't a thing. Not here on earth anyway, with gravity, friction (non vacuum), etc
I just want to know what keeps the electrons spinning? Even in the darkest coldest reaches of the universe?
"Spin" is a description of the angular momentum of an electron, as if it were actually spinning. It's kind of unfortunate, because the electron doesn't have to spin on an axis to "generate" this property. Worse, items like electrons have a spin of 1/2.
