I sent in my resignation to the Mormon Church back in 2007, and I have never looked back. Your struggle with the law of chastity, especially the part about masturbation, was also a hard one for me (no pun intended). I tried hard to keep it under wraps (I swear, these puns are not intentional), especially during my mission to Poland. I got conflicting data from Bishops and Mission Presidents concerning how bad masturbation was on the sin scale; some thought it was a vile path to destruction, and others assured me that it was a lesser sin due to how naturally our bodies come into sexual activities.
Your decision to leave is a good one. The LDS Church mentally abuses its members using this irrationality called sin that puts it's people in a perpetual state of fear. I would know, as I would literally imagine Satan laughing at me when I would finish jerking off, or when my fiancée and I would have another round of unholy fornication. This is no way to live, and I am really happy to hear that you are escaping the cycle of abuse.
As one ex-Mormon to another (I know you aren't yet, but you will be soon) I wish you all the best in your endeavors. Also, depending where you live, there are support groups made up of ex-Mormons like myself that can help you adjust to the life you were meant to live. I also encourage you to stay here and make us your first heathen family.
(Feel free to PM me as well. I'm always intrigued when I get to meet a brand new apostate like myself.)
