Ok, while there really is nothing new that has not been said in some way before. Lets get creative to see if we can come up with a twist on any personal quote you have heard or a famous quote you have heard. Looking for stuff that promotes the idea of skepticism and the value of science and reason. It can be pro or it can point out the absurdity of superstition and faith.
BUT it strictly has to be your own words. Try not to post anybody elses quote.
I''ll start.
Theism is the art of feigning superiority with all the ignorant hypocrisy that feeds it.
If I am going to gamble, I'll gamble with what is, not gamble on fantasy.
If all naked assertions are true becasue we cant disprove them, then I am having a secret affair with Angelina Jolie.
The fallacy of faith is proven with the hypocritical use of practical reality like doctors and medicine.
Fantasy is fine for entertainment but you look rediculous when you pass it off as fact as an adult.
Labs and science exist becasue someone has to filter out the crap.
When you think something is real, it is incumbant to rely on independent skepticism. That is the only way to filter out personal bias.
Theism goes in, credulity comes out. Science goes in, reason comes out.
It is silly to beleive the sun is a god, but that did happen, so what makes anyone today think they are not making the same mistake?
Our pet gods we envented as a species, were not arround 4 billion years ago, what makes believers think they will be arround after we go extinct and our planet and sun dies as well?
If I had a nickle, as worn out as it is, still holds truth to the countless superstitious claims that have existed and persist today, would make Warren Buffet ask me for a loan.
You'll have to do better than quoting tradition or a book, there already is a long line of others with you doing the same thing.
If you can live without the dead superstitions of the past, you can live without the one you hold now.
I am fine with being a finite blip, it is not the length of the ride, but merely being able to take the ride.
