What do you guys think about combat sports?
I love watching them and I love keeping fit but I don't know if I can actually be bothered joining a combat sports club of any kind.
Mainly due to
1 the cost
2 the fact I might injure myself and come away less fit than before I joined.
3 You really need a practice partner to get good at these kind of sports and I don't know anyone else who is into this sort of thing and the classes are only 1 hour long twice a week, its hardly intense training. When I go to the gym it's open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, in the past I've spent all night in the gym before taking little breaks inbetween, this is the kind of training I like doing.
I joined a jui jitsu class tonight and it was ok but I came away with a bit of a sore back and this was only the first beginner lesson, my sore back will go in no time but I'm still beginning to think I might just be better off sticking with going to the gym and pushing it to the limit there.
Is anyone else on here into any of this sort of thing? Boxing, MMA and so on?

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
