You can believe me, I was punished for those appropriately. It cost some damn money.
I have no idea if anyone of color has been more abused over traffic violations.
The only place I've ever directly, tangibly felt the color of my skin has helped me is when I'm out photographing things. I've never been bitched out by an officious prick of a security guard for taking photos of a building. I can't say the same of the minorities in our photography group.
Otherwise, it's the usual white, middle-class American benefits.
I got told not to take pictures of a building once. I'm white and male. I think if I would have been a good looking female of any race I probably wouldn't have been told anything.
This was while out cycling in Manchester, England.
I've also literally had someone shout out to me something like "How many drugs have you sold today." Just because I was cycling in a rough area and been warned to not cycle near cars in a certain area by another guard who thought my and my friend were car thieves.
I think none of this would have happened if I dressed more like a hipster, or if I was female, or both.

It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
