I usually laugh at the worst US politicians, such as Palin. Dubya was hilarious. Underneath it all is a deep gratitude they aren't ours and a profound hope they don't do anything which will hurt Australia.
When Sarah Palin first came to notice during the Presidential campaign,a writer here called her 'The American Pauline Hanson',which is a deep insult. Pauline worried me a lot; she's ignorant and rather stupid, but she's no hypocrite. Palin is the kind of person who gives fascists a bad name.
(Pauline was in the news a few weeks ago for stating publicly she would not sell her large country property to Muslims)
ADDENDUM: What might the press have said had Palin NOT attended the funeral of a former Governor? Seems to me she was between a rock and a hard place.

The full article linked below is worth a read.---at one point Pauline was seen as such a threat she was arrested, charged and convicted on trumped up charges of electoral fraud. Pauline spent 3 months in prison making many friends, before the conviction was quashed.

Quote:Pauline Lee Hanson (nee Seccombe; born 27 May 1954[1]) is an Australian politician and former leader of Pauline Hanson's One Nation, a political party with a populist and anti-immigration platform. In 2006, she was named by The Bulletin as one of the 100 most influential Australians of all time.[2]
