Okay, it's a never ending battle and your work is never done. But I think the answer to these questions will go a long way toward helping me create a cinematic picture.
1. If the higgs field is everywhere, then particles interact with it whenever they are exposed to it. But when are they exposed to it? How does it interact with the particles in the interior of a solid body, e.g. a plank of wood?
2. A higgs boson is one that has reached excitation. So what is it when it has not reached excitation?
