I apologize for the long post but I want to share a very raw and real testimony with you all. The Lord Jesus Christ delivered me from sexual immorality (or P*rn addiction). This may be inappropriate for those of you who are younger than 18.
I can remember being as young as 12 being sexually attracted to women and watching sexual content online. It started off with a few images, then it escalated to videos, and I became addicted. For years I watched extremely graphic sexual content online during my free time.
I actually consumed a lot of p*rnographic content on Tumblr, which is the main reason why I am sharing it on here. I would spend countless hours looking at GIFS, videos, erotic stories, and images. Things became so extreme that I almost sold my soul to the devil.
But in January of 2020 something radical happened deep inside of me. I knew deep in my conscience that I needed my soul to be cleansed somehow from all of the evil that I watched. At first, I had no idea how, but then I sincerely prayed to the Lord and said that I needed Him. The next morning I was delivered!
Now I can say that the Lord Jesus delivered me with confidence because I would always try to stop my addiction by my own strength and would fail. I used an app called blocksite to try and stop myself, but I would always find a way around it. Also, for years I was in denial that I even had an addiction, which made matters worse. This is more than just deliverance, this is a literal miracle!
This all goes back to the Gospel because I and the whole world have sinned against God. But Jesus Christ died while we were still sinners and rose on the third day. This is good news because we cannot save ourselves in our own strength but we need a Savior to help us. And I can say with confidence that He is my Lord and Savior. Also, if you are trapped in sin you can go to Jesus! The Bible says that “ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
And lastly, I want to speak about eternal life and the Kingdom of God. When I think about my past sins, I know deep down that I deserve Hell. But now because I believe in Jesus Christ, I have everlasting life. As Jesus said in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life”.
