I could be wrong about that. Maybe this guy would benefit from an open discussion. And furthermore, maybe some people who are teetering on the edge may benefit from listening to [the attempt at] a conversation... if anything just to see how ugly and ignorant the anti-trans movement can be.

Also, I suspect that he is using "treatment" as a euphemism for violence. So there's that, too.
The person in the discussion/argument would likely not benefit. He is probably very much committed to doing the lord's work.
I am thinking that some of the audience might benefit.
It is sort of like watching "Day's of our lives", Dynasty, "As the world turns", "All my children", "Coronation Street" and such shows. You watch them to learn to not be killers, backstabers, adulterers, assholes, jerks.
You watch them and maybe you talk about them with your family and friends and you comment on them about how screwed up they are.
I am assuming that such shows are about backstabbing. I don't watch them but I have seen a couple of episodes of "Coronation Street".
