That is the interesting thing. Do any of these twats think they really have powers?
It's almost impossible to say. Have they deluded themselves so much that they're not consciously aware of all the cold reading they are doing?
It seems unlikely, but perhaps remotely possible in some cases.
Either way, the government wouldn't allow a crazy person to sell "general good luck" for 10 quid on the street, even if he genuinely thought he was selling something. So from a legal point of view, it should be irrelevant. It's up to the psychic to demonstrate they are actually selling what they claim to, and they cannot.
It doesn't seem a lot to ask. Would you buy a car without ever seeing the car? Without seeing any cars? Would it be unreasonable to ask for some evidence of the cars?
