But I know that I'll be supported and understood by those who care about me because I am trying my best.
I can do this for everyone I care about. I know my friends will be patient with me, even when they're feeling in a tough place themselves.
Because my friends are so awesome.
I'm so lucky to be me.
I'm not perfect, far from it. But I'm just so lucky that a large part of myself is positive
One thing a buddy told me when I embraced recovery (from alcoholism, but I think it's generally applicable) is "live in the moment".
You cannot change the past -- what's done is done.
The future is out of reach, and worrying about it often induces catastrophism, the fear of the worst.
But there are things we can control today, and one of those things is how we ourselves respond to events inside the moment, using mindfulness -- being aware of our thoughts as they happen.
It's hard work, no doubt. We can do this.
