I still don't understand how people fail to see that the majority of voting in Eurovision is political. Yes it's "just a song contest", but people do vote politically and you can see it just by observing the winners over the last several years, and by how a lot of countries tend to vote. Apart from Austria (with a bearded drag queen, so still a political pro-LGBT vote) and Germany winning once each, every single winner since the late 90s has been either Eastern European or Scandinavian, but it's not political? Ok
Most countries vote for their neighbours, countries they have historical ties to, or countries they are scared of pissing off. "Omg Malta gave The UK 12 points! WTF!". DUH, Malta used to be in The British Empire, there's cultural heritage there. If you observed who Malta votes for you'd see they have The UK within their top 12 countries most years.
I'm not even being salty at the political voting, it doesn't personally affect me and I don't watch anymore. It just kills me the people who can't see it and flat deny it.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie
