I agree to an extent. What that "look" conveys in reality started in prisons. It was a sign to other males that the person wearing their pants like that was available for sex. And honestly, it looks trashy and personally, I don't need to see some guy's underwear or damn near all their ass hanging out of their pants.
Dressing to reflect one's style or personality is one thing. Looking lazy and dressing like trash is another. That can be viewed as a reflection of one's parents, in some instances.
That is not how it started. It became a normal prison style because prisoners were sometimes given outfits that were too big and they're not allowed belts.

Even if it were true, the last thing thing I would do to my son is disparage a dress style because of its association with homosexuality. If my son one day decides that he is available for gay sex I don't want him to be ashamed or to think that I would look down on him for it.
