Just finished re-watching Cadfael, which I hadn’t seen since its original run in the mid-late 90s.
Taking place in the mid 12th century against a backdrop of the civil war between King Stephen and Empress Maud, the story centres on Brother Cadfael, an herbalist/physician Benedictine monk with a gift for solving murders. Derek Jacobi is absolutely terrific in the title role (no surprise there).
If you like historical drama and/or mysteries, give this one a look.
