Automobile Manufacturers want their products to be safe, because if they aren't people won't buy them. Same goes for Gas Mileage. It's a selling point to them. The purpose of their product is NOT to kill people. If you hear about people dying in a car crash while driving a Pathfinder, and the Pathfinder earns a reputation as deadly in a crash, then people aren't going to buy pathfinders. So these laws are, to a point, in their interests.
Gun Manufacturers, on the other hand, have a product with one purpose: To kill. So when their weapons kill, they're doing their job. So they don't care how many their guns kill. In fact, the more the better. Especially when it's little children. Because then they can sell more merchandise to psychopathic man-children.
It really pisses me off that the worshipers think it is a call for a fascist state, when all we are about is reducing firearm violence. There is no political party oath to own or keep one. It is stupid to think that democrats don't own them too. The difference is that the sane see that we cant keep doing things the way we are.
The blind have been simply sold fear by the vile marketing of the industry and lobby leadership.
The worst part of it all is I hope that even that side never has to experience a suicide, domestic violence, accidental or mass shooting. They wont even give our side any credit for not wanting it to even happen to them.
The truth is that the lobby NRA used to be something I would have supported, even not owning a firearm myself. But the org got hijacked by the industry and became nothing more than a corporate lobby back in the late 70s.
