Much like the "civil" subforum. For exactly the same reasons.
That said. Your house, your rules. And someone making a thread in your house: their sub-house and sub-rules. I'm perfectly fine with them setting their bar for discussion.
I'm free not to talk to them in said threads. Just too bad that it might become a bit less chatty in here.
(Then again, I might be mistaken, it might lead to more and deeper discussion. But I personally doubt it.)
That’s the whole point, though - threads which were intended to be serious in nature frequent get derailed by humour and/or antagonism (guilty!). This isn’t anything more than an attempt to keep such threads on track.
That being said, I doubt there‘s much chance of [Serious] threads taking over the Forum. If it should appear to be trending that way, never fear - I’ve got thousands of horrible jokes on tap lighten the mood.
