That's America.
...Except when the Satanists piss on the Christians, it's wrong.
But when the Christians piss on anyone else, it's fine...
I realize you're being ironic here, but I want to make it clear that I don't feel this way. I think both sides behave badly, and the bad behavior of either side shouldn't be an excuse for my side.
Kahil Gibran, and Jesus, and Simone Weil, and others whom I would call wise, say that it is up to each of us to cut this thread, and stop the cycle, to the extent that we can, by refusing to participate.
American morality works differently. The common thinking, amply supported on forums like this one, says that once Party A has behaved badly (in my own personal judgment), you and I are totally justified in treating them in the same pissy way.
I would hope that a genuinely rebellious group would recognize this vicious circle and rebel by removing themselves from the pissing match. If it's true that the Christians are to blame in parts of America, then I would hope that the Satanists respond by denouncing the whole thing and refusing to play the game. Not continue it by trying to piss harder.
